    Organic, Medjool Dates, Jumbo

I have been into dates for the last couple of years. I eat several a day and use them in everything! I have tried countless brands and many had very hard, dry dates or dates that were black inside. I expect some of that but not what I've been getting. These dates, every single one was scrumptious, delicious, fresh and just the right amount of moisture, not dry and not mushy, superb! I am back for my 2nd order, and I will return. As a bonus, I love buying from Arizona!

    Good, But...

I recently received two 1lb packages of Jumbo Medjools. The first thing I noticed was that their size, while consistently on the large side, wasn't terribly impressive, certainly not what I'd consider "jumbo". The last commercial brand that picked up at the supermarket the previous week contained several that were considerably larger. They were definitely tasty with notes of brown sugar and caramel and for the most part, the texture was pleasantly soft, but about half of them were a little drier and more fibrous than I'd have preferred. They seem to be a quality cultivated product, but they cost almost twice as much as my local supermarket brand and weren't any softer or tastier than them. Perhaps this is all due to it being July and well off-season. I'll give them another try come Fall.
